So after reading Patrick state that you must retard the timing on the ka after you remove the egr, I got scared cause I didn't do that and parked my truck till I had time to look at it.
So I did a little reading on adjusting timing and it's my understanding that I want to turn the distributor clockwise. Well I look under the hood and my distributor is turned fully clockwise already and have been like that for some time. No obvious marks from it shifting during the swap and the bolts were tight.
Could this have been done by the previous owner or mechanic to buy some time in some way?
It's got 127xxx km's on it and driven by a 59 year old lady.
Admittedly I'm a little dumb about this stuff.
