"Yeah, that's my belief too.  I was hoping for something specific but, I know it's hard to that when the problem is not in front of you.  Thanks"

"If you've only driven it three or four times in the past three years, a lot could go wrong. Stuff just has to be driven more than that to remain mechanically sound. If you know it's a good battery and you put in a new alternator, my money…"

No Charge and Battery Dies

My 86 720 Kingcab had been mostly sitting for about three years under a shed.  I had started maybe run it around the farm to warm it up maybe three or four times.  Each time I would remove the battery.  Today, with a fully charged battery, I decided to take it down the road to loosen it up.  May run it two or three miles.  When doing so, I noticed that the gauge indicated it wasn't charging.  I checked around for broken or loose wires but after finding none, I put in a rebuilt alternator.  I am…See More

What is the main reason you'd like to join 720World? (dont just say "because I own a 720", if you do this you will not be approved)
I have got a 86 720 Nissan which I have owned since the early 90s. As is in the case with most vehicles of this age, I have problems periodically. Presently, I have an electrical problem for which I need help. As for the future, I would like to keep this truck running as long as I am. Its been a good old girl.
What is your profession? (not required, just if you want to share your knowledge)
Retired teacher
About Me:
Piddling around the house mostly now. I am scouting around for some part time work or doing some volunteer work for a worthy cause. When it gets warmer I plan to work on my tractor and the 720.
How many 720's or other Nissan trucks do you own? What years and types?
I own just one. It is a 4 wheel drive Kingcab. It has 134k on it.
What modifications have you done to your truck(s)
None
What modifications do you still plan to do to your truck(s)
I would like to fix it up a bit. It has nice body for its age but, needs paint to replace the original. It has a few small dings that need to be repaired and, new wheels as the originals have been flaking chrome for years.
How many miles would you travel to attend an all 720 truck meet?
50
