Started this discussion. Last reply by John Parsons Jul 1, 2013. 14 Replies

My first question is what ya'll think about 235 tires vs the stock 215's.  I've been talking to my Friends and the consensus is that the 235's will slow the truck down a little and make the odometer…Continue

"Thanks datzenmike, I really appreciate your math on this.  I was not good at math in school.  Well, I use a Garmin 60XS when we travel to check to odometer of ALL our various vehicles.  Lately, the GPS has matched the 720 odometer…"

datzenmike replied to John Parsons's discussion 235 Tires
"Well the new tires are just over an inch taller so this works out to you really going 52.2 miles when the odometer says 50 miles traveled. That's 4.4% further for every 100 miles. If you go 350 miles on a 19.875 gallon tank  and get 17.61…"

Daily 720 Activity Log

We're going to attempt to log the highlights of our daily activities with regard to our 720.  We will start with today and try to work backwards to May 26th--the day we picked up our 720.

June 3

Shopped for Monroe Rancho shocks.  Believe it or not, Sears has the same price per shock as O'Reilly's or Autozone but Sears installs the shocks free.  Go figure. Total out the door cost about $270.  The fronts are in Salt Lake.  We're still debating this move.

Made an appt. to get the upper and lower radiator hoses replaced.  We bought them yesterday.  Steve's Radiator is totally Old School.  He will put them both in for $25 total labor cost.

Replaced a missing zerk fitting in the left front suspension.  Don't you hate it when you inspect a "new" vehicle and there's a missing zerk?  The caked on junk on the front suspension is an issue we will have to deal with.

Shopped for Craigs List mechanics.  We visited one--he wasn't there but at least we got an idea about his shop.  Looks good--his labor rate is $45 an hour which sure beats the prevailing $75-$95 rate here in Idaho Falls.

We will do our best to backdate this text narrative.  It's great to be able to have a record of how this 720 evolves.
